Both "Saving Private Ryan" and "Pearl Harbor" are fictionalized stories about rather horrible events. Speilberge gave us a dignified moving masterpiece. Micheal Bay gave us crapola.

"Traffic" was also a good piece of work...fiction all the way.

It is possible to approach the subject correctly. It might be too early to
publish anything, or film a movie, I reserve my right to talk about it.

Point 2: I brought this up on this BB because I know that Mr. Smith likes to use his gift as a storyteller to express how he feels about painful events. If you don't believe me, go watch "Chasing Amy" again. Listen very carefully when Silent Bob speaks. That's a man exorcising some demons.

...and when that movie comes (though it probably won't be for at least 15-20 years), I hope that someone will do right by it.
