: I was just wondering why all of you people hold such a high regard for such an ego-maniac as Kevin Smith. I made the mistake of watching the Clerks animated disks with my idiot neighbor. After watching those two clowns walking around their place (which I'm sure is probably Kevin's or Jay's, seeing as how the sun has to shine on a dog's ass every once in a while), I couldn't be more afraid for the future of america than I am right now. How can people flock to this guy for the answers to all of life's little questions? Lets's get real here. The man used to work at a fuckin' convenience store and collect comics, play Dungeons and Dragons and watch Star Wars. Take Chasing Amy for example, how am I suppose to take seriously the relationship advice of someone who couldn't get laid in a morgue if he didn't have money? You're telling me that he had all this relationship experience with women in high school? How is that possible? Did he give them coupons for a free Big Gulp?
: And another thing. Everybody gets so awed by his dialogue in his movies and how its so professional sounding and proper. Hey, way to go Kevin, you know how to use a thesaurus. Nice.
God damn! Kevin isn't a god or anything but he's talented as fuck. Just because someone works in a convenient store and collects comics doens't mean they can't be more successful than a yuppie that's spent 10 years in college. The man's married and has a beautiful daughter. So what's this shit about not being able to get laid without money? Another thing, it's a fucking movie, are we supposed to live off the discovery channel and CNN for the rest of our lives?? I think these view askew movies hold very original humor that most shit movies lack these days. It's one thing to have different opinions, and it's another thing to out and out bash someone, who's obviously more successful in many more things than you are.
