: I told some people that I'd post a review of the Afroman show I went to
last night.
: Man... and what a show it was.
: Eleven bucks. I don't think that could have been beat. However, I'm
sure the fact that it was an 18+ show made it as good as it was.
Otherwise, I would've been surrounded by obnoxious, pre-pubescent
13-year-old boys with Eminem haircuts, "toking" it up and "representing",
as they say.
: Afroman is from Mississippi, so, being that the show was in New Orleans,
the crowd largely consisted of his home fan base. I swear to you, the guy
remembered EVERYONE's name... and I'm not exaggerating. Just random people
amongst the crowd, he'd point at them, say their name, then recall some
moment the two shared in a stoned stupor. That was very entertaining
because it happened pretty much the whole show.
: His songs just crack me up. I was in tears of laughter the entire show.
Maybe that was because of his songs... or the fact that I've never been
that stoned before in my life. Man, I felt like one of those 13-year-olds.
Heh. When they were setting up for Afroman, it was pretty quiet, and I
decided I wanted to rap. RRRrright. So... pretty much the only rap that I
can pull off - Jay's rap. I don't know what I was thinking, but I did it.
Funny thing: the majority of the crowd joined in. And who said J wasn't a
blockbuster?? (many of those people had no idea that that rap's been around
a LONG while. heh.)
: There's nothing more to say than I had a great time. Even if you're not
a big fan of the Afroman, I suggest that you go when and if he plays near
you. For such a cheap price, it was bomb, and I would've paid more.
: It was the most fun I've had in a long time, but I don't know if that's
saying too much. Hehe.
