Where did the six-pack come from -- why didn’t they choose a four-pack or an eight-pack? Who was the first to start packaging the six pack?
ANS
The six-pack was created by the marketing gurus behind the big breweries. Their thought was that it was the maximum number and ideal weight the average woman of a household would want to carry home to her beer-drinking man –- whether it be a six-pack of cans or bottles. Remember, this was the mentality of the '30s and '40s.
The first to start packaging the six-pack was Pabst Brewing Co.
