I'm no Kevin, but I think I can answer some of these questions... Final Cut Pro is the best editing software for the money, hands down. Many Hollywood types have switched to it. If you don't have a Mac, Adobe Premiere will do the job, but it's much less reliable than Final Cut. As far as getting your film played by local places, it depends on what kind of film it is, and what kind of a copy you have. The best thing to do with it is enter it in a bunch of festivals around the country. You'll have a much easier time getting one of them to show it than a local theater. Or you may try sending it to local news stations or local cable stations... one of the news shows here in San Diego shows local student films. Hope that helps...
: could you tell me what is the best way to get my film played by local places? Also do you have any idea what the best computer editing softwear is? And i hope the script is going well and have you decided who will be on the commentary? Thank you if you respond and i know you've heard this before but seeing clerks when i was 13 made me decide what i wanted to do with my life thanks. and if you're in sacramento come in to my resturant and dinner's on me.
