Why did Kevin choose The TIme?

Im wondering of all teh many bands why The Time were the end staple in the saga taht is Jay & Silent Bob.i never heard the characters in said saga mention the time until J&SBSB, so im curious. does kevin just like them or what? I mean they are very good, indeed! I enjoyed the dramatic final scene that ended the best characters in cinematic history's career! Great flick 'n all, im curious as to where the desision to have the tiem be Jay & Silent Bob's favorite band come from?
