I was running a network for a large French bank. The contract said I had to be given 3 months notice before I could be let go or severence. So I just goofed around and told funny jokes in the smoking room and eventually (as always) I would have a crowd around me. One fine day my "boss" came in and in his girly Frenchy accent he says to me 'you are fired. He is your check.' I looked down and it was for 60,000 USD. I was soo happy I went out and bought a car and didn't have to work for 3 months!
