Okay, here's some of the things I've noticed in watching these two movies and on this website:

Kevin really loves filming shots after Spike Lee...Chasing Amy for instance, I'd have to listen to the commentary on Dogma to see if he did that in that movie.

He chooses a lot of the same people to act in his movies. Scott is in all of them...Ben is in four of the five, Matt is in two of them...and of course, jay and silent bob. Some additions are made as the films progess.

His religion is mentioned in every movie, but Dogma is the exception because it is mocked, I guess.

All...err...most I should say, of his movies take place in Red Bank, NJ where he lives and is from.

Silent Bob does not say anything UNLESS it's intelligent. he's probably the most intelligent character in all of these movies. *Notice I said PROBABLY*.

Chasing Amy and Dogma are his two "mature" films. However, they are the two most different of all five of his films. Now some of ya'll may disagree on that, but that's only my opinion.

Cinematography: I've noticed that he uses a handheld camera in dialogue between two characters. For instance...Holden and Amy in the parking lot at the game in Chasing Amy...in Dogma, the conversation between Bartleby and Loki after they got thrown from the train.

Loki and Bartleby turned against each other much like Holden and Banky in Chasing Amy.

Bethany is the only female figure in Dogma, much like most of the other films. Sex is also a major theme, much like in ALL of his films.

You can tell Kevin loves Skeeball and Hockey, they're in all of his movies. *Well, I shouldn't say that, I haven't seen them all*

I can list all the actors that have starred in more than two of his films in the paper.

Feel free to add on...like if anybody else notices some of his cinematography and trademarks that I haven't noticed, please tell me.

: : : : And my paper is going to be on Chasing Amy and Dogma. I've noticed a lot of similarities and differences between the two and those are the two I've chosen.

: : : Best of Luck.

: : yup, I'll need it, but the cast bios and the documentary and the essay, among many many other things on all of the DVDs have helped me.

: : Does anybody want me to list some of the similarities/differences I've found in the two so ya'll...who are more into these movies than me of course, can add to them?
