Man, you've got such a point there, Mr. Joshua.

What pisses me off about John Hughes is that he hasn't directed a movie since 1991's "Curly Sue", and the only possible reason for this is that he's just too fucking lazy.

Look at all the great movies that Hughes directed during the 1980's-"Sixteen Candles", "The Breakfast Club", "Weird Science", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Planes, Trains and Automobiles".

Then "Home Alone"-which he wrote but didn't direct-becomes one of the most successful comedies of all-time, and Hughes develops what I call George Lucas' Disease (GLD); it's an illness where the victim suffers from this mentality: "I'm too fucking sucessful and lazy to direct my own movies-directing is for losers anyway-so I'll just sit on my ass and hire some no-talent hack to direct my movies and just let the shit flow from the sewers".

Under GLD, Hughes kept writing and producing one shitty kids' movie after another, losing all credibility he had left with the public.

Let's all hope that Hughes recovers from GLD one day-that he gets off his ignorant ass and starts directing again, so that he can regain our respect for him-and, while we're at it, let's hope that Kevin Smith never contracts GLD, never making the same mistakes that John Hughes made.
