Hey Kevin,
A long time ago, in the summer of 1999, you were pissing off Catholic fundamentalists; also, you attended a comic book convention in Toronto.
At the same time, several kilometres to the northeast in Peterborough, we (B3 Productions) were shooting our first independent movie, FLICK. We weren't pissing off any Catholic fundamentalists, though. We were mostly pissing off each other.
I went to the comic con, met you, talked for a few minutes, and gave you my business card.
Coincidence? Perhaps. The hand of God working in mysterious ways? Possibly. Wily movie makers attempting to exploit a link which is tenuous at best? Ab-so-lutely!
We've been through all kinds of interesting stuff since August 1999. But finally we've arrived at our premiere; November 5th, 2001 at Galaxy Cinemas in Peterborough. And we'd like to extend an invitation to you: there's a FLICK ticket with your name on it. You've been an incredible inspiration to us, working as we are without outside financial aid (forget shoestrings; our budget was dental floss).
If you can't make it (understandable, with the short notice - I've been a slack-ass about trying to contact you), take a look at our website, and shoot me an address where I can send you a copy of the DVD, which will (hopefully] be out sometime in March.
Thanks very much,
Candace
