I'm not Kevin, but can help:

: what are good schools for those desiring to be directors?

Well how should we know where you live??? But generally major universities in the United States in Canada carry film schools. Or you could try for the speciality film schools in New York and Vancouver.

: for how many years must a director go to school to get a full education in directing?

I'm assuming how ever long it takes to get your degree.. and wheather your going to attend film school, colledge, and/or university. But probably around three years.

: what courses should aspiring directors take?

Gee i don't know.... maybe FILM STUDIES!!!! I know here in Canada there is an emphesis on a good english mark. You could also take some photography classes.

: what is the most important tool learned in school that is used most often?

Used most often in what... Context... give the question some context.

: i know kevin didnt formally go to film school and he's a great director... but for the sake of the term paper i need these answers. thanks to WestEnd... i really got some good answers!

Why don't you try researching some of this stuff on the internet... not a message board. Generally you get a better mark by finding proof yourself.
