Then, upon getting PERSON X to respond to this, PERSON Y then immediately follows up with, "Hey, I was messing with you because we share that kind of brother love. Wanna be my pal? Let's play handball and trade baseball cards! How about that new episode of BUFFY, cool or WHAT?! I love you!"

Am I the only one creeped out by the Mark Chapman vibe this tactic speaks to?
