I don't get this thought-police stuff. Are we afraid to mention terrorists EXIST? Or have they become somehow sacrosanct and not able to be mentioned?
I actually went out and bought TRUE LIES the week after the bombings, just for the cathartic release of seeing terrorists killed in wholsale lots, and having a clear-cut, "winning" situation over them.
But here's what I don't get. During WWII, there were movies that had Nazis and Japanese soldiers in them-hell, we put them in our cartoons, and had Daffy Duck hit Hitler with a malllet; it didn't seem to destroy the psyche of the country.
