Unless I'm mistaken, I think Speilberg has said several times over the past several years that he never liked the scene where the police are toting the guns. I'm paraphrasing, but I believe he said something to the effect of that it was inappropriate for firearms to be in that circumstance around kids and that if he ever had the chance again, he would remove them from further prints.
I may be mistaken. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? It's still being PC, but I don't think that aspect has anything to do with Sept. 11 (though obviously the terrorist reference does)
