...out, but I had a li'l thought as to how the mainstream press will interpret Kevin's next film move. While we all know that J&SBSB was an end-cap to a wacky set of continuity that has come to be called "the askewiniverse," with Jay and Bob acting as a sort of stoned C3P0 and R2, respectively, and that further movies are not a part of the "Jersey Saga/Askewinverse," how much you wanna bet that NO ONE in the press, or film review world will make this distinction?
Expect a bunch of "Continuing his "Jersey Saga," Director Kevin Smith has cast Ben Affleck..."
And, I'd think,when the interviews start getting done, and articles written, expect to re-read, in various places, Kevin commenting on how this movie isn't in the same "world." I bet it'll get annoying for Kevin, although, you can't blame 'em. I mean, the title has JERSEY in it.
Me? I can't wait for such a film. Sounds wonderful, and if it's more CHASING AMY-esque in terms of "having something to say," then I'm that much happier. So long as there's some dick jokes. And there best be the Springsteen song in there somewhere.
