3 pretty much ignores THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART II, and introduces an all-new leg of the family to boot, with Leatherface being the only holdover. It always bugged me that it did that, but it's not really a bad flick at all, although it was evicerated by the MPAA. I used to have a bootleg of a much bloodier and more disturbing rough cut, and there was an "unrated" video and laserdisc release a few years ago that was somewhere between the R-rated U.S. theatrical version and the bootleg print.
