I called the NJ number directly. A man answers, "Holiday Inn, Bob speaking". And I say I need to make a reservation, and he asks me to hang on a moment.
Then, about three seconds later, my hand to God, the same exact guy picks up the phone and goes "reservations, Bob speaking". This through me... and I repeated, "um, yeah, I need to make a reservation".
I told him I needed a room Jan. 6th, and he asked if I was with View Askew Productions. (and it felt cool to say "yes", as in I'm WITH View Askew Productions and I'm not really some silly groupie of View Askew Productions). Smoking or non... yada yada...
Next thing I know he's giving me the confirmation and telling me I have the room for the 6th through the 9th. I barely caught that part, but then said to clarify, I only need the room one night. So he changed it for me.
It was a little strange... (especially that Bob, Bob thing at the beginning).
Then I figured... he assumes I was stoned. So first, he tries to flip me out by impersonating a different Bob; and then he tries to trick me out of $140.
OK- maybe not.
Just make sure you get the # of nights you want, and be sure to talk to Bob.
