This is a message pleading for help. I'm about to graduate from college with a B.S. degree in Media Production from Middle Tennessee State University. I know it's not known for producing great talent in the film industry, but I feel I have the talent to make it. What I'm wondering is, what's the next step? I've been accepted to the graduate film program at Chapman University in Orange, CA. I just don't know where I need to go or what I need to do to get the experience and the exposure I desperately want. If you or anyone could give me some advice about any path to take in becoming a director and screenwriter, I would be forever in your debt. I just wonder what today's talented filmmakers did or what they think is a good and effective course of action to filmmaking success. Grad school? Move to California? Move to New York? Buy an uzi and storm Universal Pictures? I'm just a bit confused and I really don't want to waste my life taking unnecessary endeavors. I appreciate your time and hope to get a response. Either way thanks.
