By restricting the flow of fluid in and out in certain areas - the exact pattern is secret - froth is created and the Guinness is served as if it were on draft. It's really simple, and quite ingenious. Next time you drink a guinness, vut open the can and look at the plastic attachment inside on the bottome. I don't suggest breaking the bottles just to show it off to your friends :)
