This first line is from Clerks.
RANDAL reads a newspaper. An INDECISIVE CUSTOMER studies the
two rental choices she holds. She looks from one movie to
the other repeatedly.
INDECISIVE CUSTOMER
(attempting a solicit help)
They say so much, but they never
tell you if it's any good.
This line is from Psycho. The original version. I am not sure
about the remade color version.
WOMAN CUSTOMER
...They tell you what it's ingredients are
and how it's guaranteed to exterminate any
insect in the world, but they do not tell you
whether or not it's painless.
Has anyone ever mentioned the similarites of these two lines? I seems
pretty clear the Kevin got the idea for the first line from Psycho.
I am just wondering if Kevin has ever said anything about this or anyone else has brought it up.
When you watch Psycho, the line pops right out at you.
Well...it does if you have seen Clerks many times.
I am just trying to get a conversation started.
