I know that video cameras are verboten, but what about their ancient ancesestors, Super8??
I shoot Super8 footage as a hobby and would love to get some shots of things like the crowd before hand, and some of the impromptu stuff that goes on outside the theater before the show starts, during the breaks, etc.
I realize that at events with "less knowlegable" staff, they don't understand the difference between video and Super8, but with the film-savvy people that will be on hand at Vulgarthon, I'm wondering if I'll be able to take it. The only reason I'll be taking the camera inside is that I have nowhere else to stash it during the shows, and only want to get some candid footage outside the actual event.
The skinny on it:
-I'll only bring 2 reels, so even if I was trying to "Sneak" stuff, I'd only be able to get 6 minutes worth
-The camera and film is all silent (As S8-sound is extinct)
-The camera is silent, which means it's noisy, so if I was trying to sneak anything, I'd be busted
-I'll be bringing K-40 film, and there's no WAY 40 ASA would expose INSIDE the 'Thon...only outside on the streets.
With all this in mind, would it be cool if I brought the camera, or should I just leave it in the hotel? Thanks!
