: The guy may be a dick, but he does make a somewhat, yet insensitive point.

: The electronic age has made our society too detached. Instead of sharing the sadness with family and true friends, one often finds themself reaching out for the safe embrace of internet "psuedo-friends".

: The same anonimity that allows many to be insensitive, abusive assholes on the net has now given others the unhealthy passage to "bare their souls" in a steralized enviroment.

: They can unburden their conscience without having to look loved one's in the eye, and can easily run if they don't like any part of the response.

: This dialogue doesn't necesarrily apply to this unfortunate situation, but this thread kinda has brought it to my mind.

: We live in an age where we feel comfortable talking intimately with folks we have known only a short time and in virtually anonimity, yet can't tell the people closest to us how we truly feel. I am guilty of this, as I am sure many others are.

: How many guys out there have sent pictures of their face or worse to the girl on the other end of a chat, but have lacked the nerve to approach one in person?

: How many unfortunate girls have shared the intimate details of their childhood molestation with someone they know only by a name with numbers at the end?

: Yet we cannot truly open our hearts to the people really important to us.

: The medium has only proved to push us farther apart, not bring us together.

: Just my random thoughts, flame if you must.
