The better video store offers more than just the Hollywood hits, indie films, maybe European or Asian ... and ofcourse a much more exotic variety of porn. I don't think he was worshipping the video store itself, he was worshipping the movies, falling to his knees when he sees all these wonderful pieces of art.
Randall doesn't feel that he has to adjust to society and that is the point.
