Child pronography, and goat fucking are not sexual preferences, they are sexual perversions. The point that I was originally making was that your sexual *preference*, in the vein of choosing your life partners under normal circumstances; that's a predisposition you are born with, therefore, a lesbian that is born a lesbian, or a gay man that is born a gay man, is not likely to change that preference.
And to me, Chasing Amy was not about changing sexual preference, but finding your one true love and sticking with that person despite the small things in life that sometimes do make or break relationships.
