He came to my university (back when I was in school), which is at the end of the world know as Oklahoma. Now the student body's first choice was Chris Rock, but the university decided that he swears to much (meaning he's black) so they manage to get Carlin instead (yes, yes, the originater of the 7 words you can't say on TV). So Carlins doing his bits and goes on about how religion is the biggest telemarketing scam that was ever invented and the crowd just goes silent. As my freshman history proffesor says "Oklahoma is the buckle of the bible belt", there were like 7 of us in the crowd clapping, I thought he was just going to walk off the stage right then and there. But the continued on, switching to words that are funny, and I don't think there was a lynch mob waiting for him afterwards so it all ended well.
