Look, he made some reasonably entertaining sci-fi films that harkened back to the old adventure serial sof the 30's and 40's, crammed full of mind-blowing F/X, and sold the public some bitching toys...which was cool...25 YEARS AGO!!! That shtick has become tired and cliched with every new big blockbuster that comes along each summer...look, "Wars" was first, it gets my respect (Though "Empire" is the only one I think is actually a quality film), but all things to Lucas just again flogging a dead horse, much like he did with Episode 1...he's letting overly-romantic Gen-Xer's and Yer's get all mushy over something they thought was cool when they were kids and not bothering to try and grow creatively...mainly it pisses me off because the guy CAN write a fantastic script..."American Graffiti" is a great, great film...
