: when you watch a film, do you watch it as art or entertainment?
Depends on the film. If its a Hollywood "blockbuster" type movie, then its strictly for entertainment. Otherwise, both. Because if a film suceeds as "art" then by default its entertaining.
: When you rate a film, what do you consider to be most important when you rate a film?
: Acting, Directing, Story, Cinematography, lighting, mood, script, etc?
When I rate a film, its based strictly on how much I enjoyed it. And in order to enjoy it, it needs to be good according to most of those.
: Do you consider the film medium to be the most important aspect to the film, or is it more entertainment value?
I'm not sure what you mean by that....
: What do you rate these films?
: 1. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Haven't seen it
: 2. Annie Hall
I don't remember, should probably see it again.
: 3. Mission Impossible 2
** 1/2
: 4. Chasing Amy
*** 1/2
: 5. Halloween
*** 1/2
