: when you watch a film, do you watch it as art or entertainment?

Duh. It's ART. It's a work. Of ART. Done by ARTISTS. Who create ART. I'm never entertained when I see a movie, I just go to expand my horizons.

: When you rate a film, what do you consider to be most important when you rate a film?

When I rate a film, I consider how expanded my horizons are, artfully speaking, when I rate a film.

: Acting, Directing, Story, Cinematography, lighting, mood, script, etc?

I want to see the people ACTING. It's like, subtle performances are dumb. When Picasso painted that church roof or whatever, did he HIDE the fact that he was painting? No. SHOW ME THAT YOU'RE ACTING. See anything with Ashley Judd or Travolta. They know.

I've never heard of those other things you've mentioned.

: Do you consider the film medium to be the most important aspect to the film, or is it more entertainment value?

Entertainment pleh boing. No way. Film is an art. If you're not in it for the art, you might as well go sell your "work" on e-bay. It's like that famous painting of dogs playing poker. The artist had a point, and he expressed it through his ART. His point? That, if left to their own devices, dogs COULD play poker. And smoke cigars. And I got that message loud and clear.

: What do you rate these films?

: 1. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

A 6.78

: 2. Annie Hall

A solid 9.454321

: 3. Mission Impossible 2

3.14

: 4. Chasing Amy

Never saw it. It's not art. There are no dogs. Or poker.

: 5. Halloween

Thumbs up.
