Thanks,

: This is just a dump of my previous ramblings from the last board, in case anyone missed the info:

: I talked with my buddy Shari today (the sales manager at the Holiday Inn) about a host of issues, and this is the news I'm passing on to you guys:

: * She reminded me of a rule they have at the front desk: They can only rent rooms to someone OVER 21. That means you can have under-21 folks in your party, but someone over 21 has to sign up for the room. It's all because of insurance and because they have a bar with a liquor license on the premesis. Alot of this comes form the parent company, Meristar, and there's nothing they can do to about it.

: That being said, after talking with Shari at length about this, I'm VERY certain that you under 21 folks can fly in under the radar. Here's how: Try to get someone who's over 21 to sign up for the room and hand you the keys later - they can use a fake address or name even. If that's not happening, then just have ONE person - the OLDEST LOOKING one in your party - go up to the counter and check in. They don't ask for ID unless you LOOK underage, all they make you do is fill out the little postcard. Almost all of their desk agents are cool and they're aware of our group and our little 'age problem', so speaking off the record: this shouldn't be a real problem - just be prepared.

: I will also warn all of you to stay away from Bob who works at the front desk, as he is probably the only one who would card you. He's the 'LaFours' of the Tinton Falls Holiday Inn. I heard some of you have dealt with him already - he's a real dick...

: * I also verified that at the hotel bar (Morgan's) they only card people AT THE BAR who look underage, so GETTING IN to the place is no problem. Morgan's closes AT 2AM PERIOD, and they can lose their liquor license if the cops see them open even a minute later. I BEGGED them 500 different ways to leave the bar open past 2:00 for us, but they can't. The laws in Jersey prohibit them from even being OPEN past then, even if the STOP selling booze. They could lose their liquor license, so it's not negotiable. They could move us to the conference rooms, but technically they're supposed to charge us like $800 for use of them, and they also happen to be right underneath and next to guest rooms, so all this is simply NOT NEGOTIABLE. When 2AM hits, please take off, and have your 'after hours' plans made already so that nobody overhears us talking about where we're going. Got it???

: * Shari's also working with the facilities people to get us access to the TV's inside Morgan's. If this works out, we'll be able to hook up someone's video camera, player, game deck, or computer to the TV's and throw up anything we want (no porn). Whoever wants to do this must go through me (use the board cause my e-mail's broke still).

: * One more thing: PLEASE don't call the Holiday Inn and ask about this specialty stuff. Unless it specifically involves your reservation or general questions about the facility, bring your problems or whatevers to me, and I'll address them...

: Shari has called in HUGE favors with the bosses over there, using the sheer volume of rooms we're renting and the repeat business as leverage. We've gotten the cheapest rate that they've given out in the past THREE YEARS, and whatever wacky rules they can LEGALLY change or bend for us, they have, so please don't ditch your plans to stay at the Inn unless you absolutely have to. If you have an issue, bring it to me and I'll iron it out as best I can. In my opinion, for the extra $10 a night over the Red Roof rate, it's worth it to be at the Inn where all the action is...

: Sound good???
