It seems as though there has always been some effort to "resurrect" Boba Fett. I believe the Dark Horse comics have mysteriously revived him and now have him flying around in "Slave Two"...(The sequel to "Slave One", of course.)
The Marvel comics...back in the day...featured the Sarlaac burping out Fett, wherein an amnesiac Fett was picked up by Jawas and assumed to be a droid of some sort. Later, Han Solo (back on Tattooine to retrieve "frozen" funds) attempts to rescue Fett from the out-of-control sandcrawler, but suddenly Fett comes-to, and Han is forced to abandon the Sandcrawler, headed right back for the Sarlaac Pit....
Marvel also featured a Fett look-alike, who often de-masked and was Han's "rival of affections" for Leia...(Yeah, *right*.)
It's odd that these details come back to me so clearly, but to a kid in the 80's, these sort of things just stick in your memory. (Yeah, now ask me about Rik Duel and Dani and that weird rabbit like critter that hung around with R2 and 3PO, and the cat-like equivalent of Ewoks that turned into huge, raging beasts upon reaching maturity....)
