There was an interview several years ago about Kevin Smith HIMSELF writing getting approached to do a TV series based on Clerks, then he wrote 3 episodes HIMSELF, and the TV execs freaked out saying "You can't just go & write them yourself, a staff of writers has to collaborate with it.." and Kevin balked at it.
