when was the last time you said "laugh out loud!!" (or whatever the hell that acronym is supposed to be) in "real life"?
i, personally, have always used "hahhahahahahah" or "hehehehehehehe" to express the same sentiments. ha! or heh! also work quite well as an abbreviated version.
so in conclusion.... yes, internet shorthand is now gay.
