Most kids are oblivious to the wrong-headed presumptions of their selfish suggestions.
However does the message get though better if they get yelled at by both Mom and Dad, as well as half the neighbors ?
True, an apology and a retraction, could serve to make nice, and call off the dogs. But as we know just about all kids, and most adults, when attacked will try and defend with either "Wasn't me" or "Why are you giving me grief, I'm going to my room to veg out to Ozzy"
I know it's all about "tough love" with you brother. I'm just offering my little input.
