you can get a USB floppy and SCSI cards are cheap

and as far as value goes, it would be silly to buy a machine that is as outdated as the B&W G3... those new iMacs are sooooo reasonably priced (you can get a USB-->SCSI adaptor for any devices that used apple's built-in SCSI port (25 pin), but i don't think you can use anything faster (it's not like USB could handle anything faster anyway...)).

and the $1600 tower isn't bad either...

believe me... if you can afford it, buying new is hands-down the best deal. the new hardware (memory, hard drives, logic boards, etc.) is worth the premium over the older gear. Buying older gear and upgrading it over time to a point where it's "close" to a new computer will cost as much/more than a new 'puter... and have nowhere near the performance.
