Just a matter of politics home skillet. I was what one would call a fruit fly for the longest time. I still have a lot of gay friends and ya know what, they don't give a horses ass if I say gay or call them fags. I'm straight and they say it back to me. I grew up in the ghetto, the rougher parts of Cleveland and it was the same way when using the term *gasp*....."nigga." It's generally used as a term of endearmen anymore. Sort of saying, if one accepts and incorporates this stupid lil word into their vocabulary making it into something positive it won;t hurt as much when it is used in a derogatory manner.
Hell I'm Arabic and I get called camel jockey all the flippin' time. Then again, I've been called that all my life by my friends so it never bothered me.
