I think you should just be satisfied that it is a look into obsession. The blonde chick (name?) was obsessed with the dark-haired chick (name?). The blonde chick (damn, I wish I could remember the names) was struggling and had NOTHING. She was hiding from those guys (the club) that's why she traded apartments. When you have nothing, your life is miserable, and you've lost all hope some people escape into their minds. She created this whole world that was so much better than hers. Notice: she had no money in real life, she was rich in the fake life. She was bored in real life, she had an exciting adventure in fake life. She was loved by no one in real life, she was loved by everyone in fake life. Etc.

It's been a while since I saw the movie (saw it at a film festival, before wide release). I don't remember what exactly the blue box and and cowboy stood for, but I think they were disposable plots so don't get hung up on them.

I will say that I was fucked up for a week after seeing the movie.
