How do I change colours?

I've just gotted here and i've been looking around like a prostitute in Victorian times. However, I see no Jack the Ripper, I see no baby eating bishops, but I do see names in red. I'm no scarlet lady, in fact i'm no lady at all, but can I have a red name, or rather, a nice purple name? Not a lot of people like that colour, but I do, and as a result, prefer it to black.
