I too am in the process of writing a script, my second. You are telling a story, so what you want to do is think of how it all began. With your situation it is a little easier, it is based on your life. So Start at the beggining. There are many different ways to do this. If you can come up with an original way go with it. If not look at some of your favorite movies, and how they begin, and use that as inspiration. I am here if you have any other questions
