I really liked it then -- I think mostly because it was so different from anything else I'd ever seen. I haven't seen it in 10 years though, so I'm not sure if it still holds up or even if I would still like it. My college roommate and I were kinda distracted throughout it because we were trying to recognize all the places where it was shot (i.e., "Hey, that's the place that has the really good black bean soup!").

Linklater's latest "Waking Life" seemed (based on my memory of "Slacker") much better, and possibly a more "realized" version of his original vision in terms of his not necessarily a linear, 3-act plot concept. Ugh, that sentence sounded really pretentious and film-school-y, so I'll just stop now.
