check out anything by (Barry's) fellow Miami Herald columnist Carl Hiaasen. Hiaasen's and Barry's styles are very similar; I read Hiaasen's "Sick Puppy" and, damn, was it hilarious. While "Big Trouble" was good, "Sick Puppy" was much superior.
