My favorite movie was Dogma (although all of Kevin Smith's movies are hilarious)... but it's sort of like, even though things can get serious, there is always humor to be had... did i explain that right?

: I think the biggest thing about it all is honesty. Kevin makes very honest movies, sure they are hillarious, and often really out there, but a lot of the real content behind the humor is real, it really reflects what Kevin thinks, and what is really happening in the world. Such as his views of religion on Dogma. I especially love everyone's honesty and open attitudes in commentaries, and interviews, etc. They are not trying to hide things from us, they are trying to tell us everything they can taht will ehlp us to appreciate it all the more. I mean, look at the Chasing Amy DVD insert, it fucking explains kevin's personal inspiration for the movie, and information about his personal love life. I really respect him for this, and thank him. I don't think I would ever have the courage to tell such personal stories, or then follow them with an explanation of why they were so personal, and why it mattered. Kevin doesn't hide from us all, he posts on the board (although not much lately :( ) the biggest thing is just that this guy who has made these incredible movies, and who you would normally just place on a pedestal not to be touched, only to be gazed at, is just a down-to-earth guy who happened to kind of make it in the industry. overall his films are just TRUE, take it to mean waht you want, but this is one of the main reasons I love his work so much, and I really hope that some day I get to meet the man. (this is the one "celebrity" that I can say that about)
