i'm not a Monty Python fan (never exposed... and it was too geeky a
thing to do by the time i was willing to : )

that's flat-out bizarre though... i think that is one of the few British titles
that could sell more copies in America than in the UK though...
EVERY self-respecting geek in America worships the Python. and
there are enough regular people who dig it to really push the sales
up.

You guys also have The Prisoner on DVD...

: : i have 16 Region 2 DVDs... total number of discs: 34
: Mine's kind of half and half regions 1 & 2 aswell.
that should have read differently.... i have 16 region 2 packages which
comprise 34 discs. I've got a bunch more region 1. count the discs
and it's like 5:1, count the packages and it's closer to 10:1

:Monty Python and the Holy Grail is out in the US but no sign of it here.
What the fuck is that? You don't get much more British than that. I
know Monty Python is well loved in America too, but it's ours. Surely
we deserve the DVD at the same time?

and to that i respond... dude, you've had Buffy on DVD since October
2000... season one JUST came out stateside mid-january... AND the
british package is better... the american version doesn't come with
that little booklet o' quotes and shit.

add to that the fact you can buy the VHS for any number of shows a
couple of months after they've finished their broadcast for the
season...

not that i care, but you also have access to the first 7 seasons of
Friends on DVD... while in America there are a couple "best of..." type
collections and that's it...

my cousin is chomping at the bit to get her hands on those Friends
DVDS...

and amazon.co.uk deducts the VAT if yr ordering from america... AND
the shipping is dead inexpensive (£2.95 i think) that's a good value...
