this local event called Essex Day. I was running behind some displays and looking for someone and I knocked this old lady down, when I locked down I noticed I had knocked over Congresswoman Helen Bentley. Not interesting but at least factual.
What is more interesting is Essex Day itself. It's this backwoods white trash kinda neighborhood. When famous people come to my area they always were suspenders and denim overalls. Our most famous guest ever was Roy Clark, although he visited a year before he show came out. Hmm....
The year of the Gulf War, my dad hung a tree with colored lights and tied Budweiser cans all over it with yellow ribbons. We won first place for our Christmas display that year.
