Did you see Desparado? Messing with a good thing isn't always a good plan. El Mariachi is much rougher, has fewer camera moves, novice actors, and next to no special effects. It's also far superior to the remake. A second go-round is pretty risky. But, it would be a chance to fix the "It's Saturday" continuity bug.
