: As for Botherhood being bad because of its incoherance, no bitch, that is why it kicks so much ass. For the first time since Re-Animator I went to a movie and did not know what to expect next. It was like a Wong Jing movie had sex with Remains of the Day. It was obsurd and over the top. It was everything an action movie needs to be. It looked Syd Field in the eye and shot a load of Giz in his face.
Look, I love being suprised in movies...it's a rarity these days, but this movie didn't keep me "guessing"...it just left me annoyed...honestly, there was the barest bones of a plot...the visuals at times were pretty stunning, but the film was just spread out too far...one minute it's a splatter film, then a suspense film, then a period piece, then a noir bit, then some Merchant-Ivory-type shtuff, then a romance, then a staright-up mystery, yadda-yadda-yadda...like I said, too shitzo for my taste...
Plenty of shame in THAT game...
