: So me and some friends rented Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. We were let down big time. Let me explain why five very different 20 something friends didn't like it - There's way WAY too many in-jokes and movie references. There was like 20 minutes of real movie and story, the rest was just little jokes that weren't very funny. The first few bits of Jay were funny - him swearing and being dumb - up until the hitchhiking scenes. Then we all got sick of him. The Ben Affleck internet stuff was very well done. Lots of talking but it went by very fast. It was FUN. The four girl thieves were kind of cool - but swore WAY too much (just like eveyone else). It's like he was trying to shock you with their language, but it got old real fast. Keep in mind my friends and I swear like sailors (including girls), but this was just boring and repetitive. The point of this (I think) was to have four HOT chicks who were bandits, but 2 of the chicks were FAR FROM HOT. The one with the pigtails didn't fit in. Neither did the one from American Pie that has the she-man face and fake boobs. The other guy from American Pie with the braces was a pretty funny character, but his exit was very LAME. The Dawson Creek dude and the pie humper were lame. So many of the jokes were so obvious - like they didn't take much thought to come up with. "I'm the pie fucker" - no shit, we all know that. Tell us something new. All the stuff with Mark Hammil was HORRIBLE! Probably the most embarrassingly bad stuff. If Kevin Smith is such a big Star Wars fan, why did he blow the opportunity to have Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammil in a scene together? They could have totally made out or something! Chris Rock was lousy. I heard him do his "black man hate white man" jokes in 1992, 93, 94, 95, 96, etc. I wish Kevin Smith would make his next movie a bit more clever and not so boring and predictable. Stop telling us the SAME JOKE OVER AND OVER. IT ONLY WORKS ONCE. TWICE IF WE BLINKED. He needs to stay OUT of the movie too. Whenever he's on screen, it takes you OUT of the movie and makes you go "hey, that's Kevin Smith." No offense, but he doesn't add anything to the movie. If he wasn't in it at all it wouldn't be any worse. I know Kevin has a lot of good ideas, and can make a fun movie, but for some reason he just didn't. I AM a fan and look forward to his next movie, but I just though he would like the honest opinion of a bunch of guys who don't know him like most of you do. On the plus side, I was at Best Buy the next day and say that the display for the DVD was totally empty. They must have sold out. Hey Kevin, why not challange yourself by making a movie that doesn't rely on the F word. You can do it!
