: Um, ok, we all have our opinions about just about everything in life, but we must learn where, when and how to express those opinions.
Damn straight.
A couple of things about your posts: Apparently you don't appreciate Kevin Smith's humor, as you seem to be very offended by the swearing, that is something that has been part of all of his movies, deal with it.
No, he just felt that some of the swearing was inappropriate (the C.L.I.T. swearing so much). And this movie had an excess of naughty words.
And if that really makes that much of an impact, then I feel sorry for you, just as I feel sorry for my mom, since she didn't like Good Will Hunting because they said "fuck" too much... As for the prevalance of in-jokes in J&SBSB, that is what the movie was all about. Kevin made this movie as a tribute to his loyal fans, who love to see all the witty ways that he can draw these movies together... J&SBSB was a joke movie, it wasn't supposed to have a signifigant plot, it was just supposed to make us laugh.
That doesn't make it a good movie. And apparently, it didn't make him laugh much.
Fine, you didn't like the movie, then don't buy it, I can tell you're not that hardcore a fan if for no other reason than, you didn't see it in the theaters...
There's so much wrong with that...
But basically, there is no real point to coming to a place like this and just saying that the movie sucked, people are just going to ignore/flame you.
He's a Kevin Smith fan who was disappointed by one of Kevin's movies. He has a right to come to a place like this and state his opinion. I agree with him on almost all counts, and I totally understood the movie, moreso than most people than people that say it's one of their favorite VA movies.
now if you can come up with some tactful, intelligent, and constructive criticism, then by all means, post away. but when you just come on and say something like "all of his movies sucked and I hate him..." nothing good will come of it.
He didn't say that. He stated tacful, intelligent, and constructive criticism. He even said what he liked about the movie. Did you read his post?
Things he liked:
"The first few bits of Jay were funny - him swearing and being dumb"
"The Ben Affleck internet stuff was very well done. Lots of talking but it went by very fast. It was FUN"
"The four girl thieves were kind of cool"
And that's not even all of what he liked.
