I'm directing a documentary this September (a long shoot. It goes on until June), and the main idea is to
1) Do an interesting Documentary, not like the ones I've been seeing as of late (apart from IFC's awesome docu-line-up of course).
2) to have at least something to show investors for my feature.
My question is when I do complete this, do you think I can handle the prospective investing party just as good with the documentary as I might if I had a short film or something along those lines? I know it also depends on the work you show, but would some people see a documentary and think "uh-oh, waste of time" even if they are aware that the money will go into the feature film (which they will have a copy of as well)?
