Lots of great advice about how to get financing, how to use casting
agents to try to get a "name" tied to the script, how to get letters of (I
forget the name) from people who may be interested in the script,
where to find "angel investors" and how to talk to them.
not to mention legal advice.

producing your own film.

I went to the one just held in LA and it was totally worth the 80 bucks
(that I would have paid if I wasn't a member of the press).

information about "doing it yourself". The DIYreporter is a
subscription website so the info will cost you.
But you can probably find it all on the web by searching for "film
financing" or some other relevant thing.
