Some movies are available either with both ON the dvd or you can choose at the store which one ya want. Unless your tv is a tiny little thing you always win with widescreen.

: Because one of the main points of having a collector's format like DVD is to present movies as close as possible to how they were shown in theaters. Even if the title doesn't "suffer" in full-frame, that's not how it was shown in theaters. It was shown in widescreen, and the DVD is trying to preserve that theatrical framing.

: And, the standard edition of DOGMA does include a full-frame viewing option. If you don't like it in widescreen, pick up that version and you can watch it in full-frame all you want.
